Stop Light at 5th & Chestnut
Results of the recent poll
Community members were recently asked to share their thoughts about whether there should be a stop light at 5th & Chestnut. As part of the Chestnut Street design, replacement or removal of the stop light were options that were under consideration by the Council. Several respondents to the poll wanted to see the poll results, so the following link provides that information.
5th & Chestnut Stop Light - Poll results
Preliminary results of the poll were distributed to the Council on Monday, October 23. Final results were presented at the Council meeting on October 26. At the meeting on October 26, the Council voted (4-2) to not approve the engineering agreement that would have provided the design for a stop light at this intersection. In essence, this was a vote to not have a stop light at 5th & Chestnut. For a more exact description of the Council's action, please see the Council minutes posted on this website.
